invisible wefts

what is a weft?

Invisible machine wefts are quite literally, a weft that is sewn by machine.  A machine-sewn weft is made with a special sewing machine that connects all the hair onto one long weft.  Most wefts are 3-4oz of hair and one continuous row.  They can be cut to the length of row (around your noggin'). Our new invisible wefts are sealed along the root with our signature polyurethane (a flexible polymer). This eliminates any itchy, pokey hairs at the scalp and allows us to have the thinest possible weft. So how is a hand-sewn weft different? A hand-sewn weft is typically only 11-12" long and is sewn by hand.  They are typically thin, but require multiple wefts to make one row of hair (usually 4+).  It is NOT recommended to cut them.  They are traditionally more expensive because of the labor cost to make them.

how is it installed?

Wefts are installed using a standard "hand-tied" method.  Most often, you will have 2 rows of hair.  Each row is sectioned thinly, and beads are secured onto your natural hair spaced evenly.  The weft is then sewn (by hand - hand-sewn, get it?) onto the beads. This method evenly distributes the added weight of your Laux, allowing for smooth grow out of your natural hair, and blends flawlessly in a high pony. Re-installs depend on personal preference, but most people go 8-16 weeks before moving their weft back up.  The weft is then carefully removed from the beads, the beads are removed, and the process starts fresh!

what's the install cost?

While each stylist varies, you can expect to pay $250-350 for two rows of weft, depending on if you require removal, blending, or other services. Most stylists provide quotes ahead of time.

what ARE TAPES?

Tape in hair extensions are 2" long flat pieces of hair, adhered to each other with a thin strip of natural hair in between, creating a "sandwich". They are thin, lightweight, and designed to blend seamlessly with your natural hair for a fuller, longer look.

HOW ARE THEY INSTALLED?

Each piece of tape-in extension has a sticky adhesive, also called a tab, along the root. A thin slice of your natural hair is sectioned off, usually horizontally, and a piece of extension is applied at the root underneath and above your natural hair. This creates a seal, sandwiching your natural hair between two pieces with the adhesive.

WHAT'S THE INSTALL COST?

Tape-in extension costs are typically charged per bag, starting at $100 per bag on average. All stylists charge different rates, including for remove, retab, and reinstall. Check with your stylist for their rates.

keratin hair

what is keratin hair?

Keratin extensions, also known as keratin bond or fusion extensions, are a type of semi-permanent hair extension applied using keratin-based adhesive at the tips of the extension strands. Keratin is a natural protein found in hair, which makes this method gentle and long-lasting when applied correctly. Keratin hair is sold in "bundles" of thin strands, held together with keratin bonds.

how is it installed?

Laux keratin extensions are installed using a process called cold fusion bonding, which involves attaching individual strands of hair extensions to small sections of your natural hair. Each extension strand has a pre-tipped keratin bond at one end. They are attached to a small section of your natural hair (about the size of a rice grain) close to the root and melted using cold fusion technology. Then, the keratin is “rolled” to wrap around your natural hair. The result is a small, durable bond that holds the extension in place.

What's the install cost?

Keratin extensions are the most undetectable install method, but they are also the most expensive to install. The process can take up to 6 hours for a full head install, and most stylists charge per hour.
